Responding to a plea by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), a two-judge bench of the Delhi High Court on Friday stayed Arvind Kejriwal’s bail. The Delhi High Court gave its verdict in that case on Tuesday.
Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (UP) convener Arvind Kejriwal did not get bail. The Delhi High Court stayed the order of Rouse Avenue Court. As a result, Kejriwal will have to stay in Tihar for the time being.
ED arrested Arvind Kejriwal in excise corruption case. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court granted him bail on Thursday. The ED had sought a 48-hour deferral of Arvind Kejriwal bail. Which was not accepted. Judge Nyaya Bindu granted Kejriwal bail. The Central Investigation Agency filed a case in the High Court challenging the order on Friday morning. Delhi High Court suspended Kejriwal’s bail in response to ED’s plea.

A vacation bench of Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain and Justice Ravindra Dudeja said while pronouncing the judgment on Tuesday, “The trial court should not have given any direction, which is contrary to the judgment of the High Court”. Arguments are not evaluated properly. The High Court also said that once a case challenging his (Arvind Kejriwal’s) arrest was dismissed by the High Court. As a result, it can never be said that individual liberty has been curtailed.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by ED on March 21 in the excise case. But he did not resign from the post of Chief Minister. He was later granted interim bail to campaign ahead of the

ED lawyer and Center Additional Solicitor General SV Raju said the Rouse Avenue court was supposed to properly consider the documents submitted by the ED opposing the bail under Section 45 of the Prevention of Unlawful Financial Transactions Act (PMLA). But without reviewing them unilaterally bail has been granted to the AAP chief. After that, ED filed a case against Arvind Kejriwal’s bail in the Delhi High Court. ED’s lawyer raised this point in the hearing of this case on Friday. However,Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyer claimed that the investigating agency could not provide any evidence of illegal financial transactions against his client.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal struck again on the day of the bail rejection in the Delhi High Court.
